An extensive history
Our Americas Region Coil Coatings business was founded in 1888 under predecessor Hanna Paints. Through a series of acquisitions the segment grew, and in 1989 was acquired by Akzo, creating a global coatings business. In 1994, Akzo merged with Nobel to become AkzoNobel, with global headquarters in Amsterdam and operations in over 150 countries.
Today, our Americas team is headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, with our coil coatings presence extending across North and South America. Our Americas footprint includes manufacturing sites in Columbus and Huron, Ohio; Garcia, Mexico; and Sao Paolo Brazil. Our production sites and our customers are further supported by R&D Labs in Mexico; Brazil; Columbus, Ohio; and our LEED certified R&D center in Strongsville, Ohio.
